Music Who’s Who Takes Metallica’s “Black Album” for Charity – Music Reads

The Metallica Blacklist includes Miley Cyrus, Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, The Chats and heaps Following

Metallica’s iconic 1991 eponymous album – known as “The Black Album” – gets a lavish 30e anniversary treatment.

There’s the usual remaster / deluxe box / vinyl goodies you’d expect, but what’s way more interesting is The Metallica Blacklist: a tribute album with covers of tracks from the album – with 100% of the proceeds going to charity – featuring a wide range of artists from all kinds of scenes and genres.

We’re talking about St. Vincent doing “Sad But True”, Phoebe Bridgers taking on “Nothing Else Matters”, Mac DeMarco’s version of “Enter Sandman”. Weezer, IDLES, Kamasi Washington, Jason Isbell, Moses Sumney, My Morning Jacket and Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode are other big names contributing to the project.
