Elton John has insisted he is in “excellent health” after photos of him in a wheelchair were posted online.

In response to the footage, the Rocketman singer took to Instagram to explain why he was spotted being pushed around in a wheelchair while at Leipzig Airport in Germany at the end of the week. last month.

“I want to thank all of my fans for reaching out to ask me questions about my health, after the tabloids ran a silly story about me ‘looking fragile’ in a wheelchair,” he wrote. “The real story is that I’m in excellent health, I love my shows and I play and sing my best. I give my 100% every night and I never want to disappoint, especially after everyone waited so long to start seeing shows again.”

He added, “Your response to every show has been phenomenal and I love every minute of it.”

Elton then explained exactly why he was photographed sitting in a wheelchair.

“After another rousing 2.5 hour show, we arrived at Leipzig airport just before curfew to find that part of the airport had closed. getting to the plane, so my team kindly lay down on a wheelchair so I could rest my hip after doing the show,” the 75-year-old continued, adding, “That’s it.”

Elton is currently on tour but was invited to perform at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee II event, Platinum Party At The Palace, on Saturday night.
