Legendary Beatles rooftop concert to be extended in theaters – Reuters

The Beatles’ Unforgettable Rooftop Concert at Apple Corps Headquarters in Savile Row on January 30, 1969, debuted as a 65-minute feature film at an exclusive IMAX® event screening and a Q&A with the filmmakers on January 30, 2022.

Director/producer Peter Jackson said: “I am delighted that the rooftop concert of ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ is shown in IMAX, on this giant screen, it is the last Beatles concert, and it is the absolutely perfect way to see and hear him”. “Since the debut of Peter Jackson’s beautiful and illuminating docuseries, we’ve heard over and over again from fans wanting to experience his unforgettable rooftop performance in IMAX,” said Megan Colligan, President of IMAX Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to partner with Disney to bring ‘Get Back’ to a whole new stage and give Beatles fans around the world a unique opportunity to watch and hear their heroes in the unparalleled sight and sound of IMAX. .”

The concert, which features in its entirety in Peter Jackson’s original docuseries “The Beatles: Get Back”, will be optimized for IMAX screens, digitally remastered in the picture and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with the proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Remastering) Technology.

A worldwide theatrical engagement of the 65-minute feature film, “The Beatles: Get Back–The Rooftop Concert”, runs from February 10-13, 2022, followed by an extended theatrical release (played in the UK market in 2D) at from February 18, 2022. The complete docuseries, “The Beatles: Get Back”, will soon be available on Blu-rayTM in the UK.
